Our Services

Savor.ai is a mobile app that allows users to upload or select photos of pantry contents, detects ingredients using AI, and recommends recipes based on those ingredients. The app does not require sign-up or login and is available on iOS devices.

Collection of Information

🔹 Information We Collect Automatically

• App version and usage patterns (via Firebase Analytics)
• Time and duration of sessions
• User interaction events (e.g., photo uploads, recipe saves)

This data is collected in aggregate and is not linked to any personally identifiable user profiles.

🔹 Pantry Image Data

When you upload or select a photo of your pantry:

• The image is sent to our backend server to analyze and extract a list of recognizable ingredients.
• The original image and recognized ingredients may be stored on our servers to support recipe recommendations and improve performance.
• No facial recognition, biometric analysis, or personally identifiable features are extracted or stored.

• Pantry photo (for reuse)
• Liked or favorited recipes
• Local usage preferences

This data is stored either on-device or on our servers (anonymously) and is never associated with a personal account.

Use of Information

• Provide and improve the app's features

• Fulfill any legal obligations or defend against misuse

Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. Your data is only shared with:

• OpenAI for ingredient recognition from pantry photos
• Firebase Analytics for anonymous app usage tracking

We do not provide your pantry image or other data to any marketing or ad providers.

Data Retention

• Pantry photos and detected ingredients may be retained on our servers to support app features.
• Usage analytics are retained in Firebase in accordance with Google's policies.
• If you uninstall the app, locally stored data is deleted. You may contact us to request deletion of any data stored on our servers.

Security

• Secure transmission of photos using HTTPS
• Role-based access controls for stored data
• Regular monitoring for vulnerabilities

No data transmission or storage system is guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Children’s Privacy

Savor.ai is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children.

International Users

Your data may be processed in servers located outside your region or country. By using the app, you consent to this transfer, even if data protection laws differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Your Rights

Since the app does not require an account, your data is stored anonymously or pseudonymously. If you'd like your data deleted from our backend (e.g., pantry images or ingredient history), please contact us directly.
